FAQs - New Registration System

Revised: 08/1/18

In the "Check My Registration Status," where transfer hours are displayed, are those transfer hours ALL transfer hours a student has accumulated or only those transfer hours applicable to the university?

A student's registration status will only display transfer hours applicable to the university and the student's specific program and level.

What does "Student Status" (from "Registration Status" on the "Prepare for Registration" module) actually mean?

Student status refers to the different ways students may be enrolled in, exiting or re-entering the university. Examples include full-time status, withdrawing student and academic probation.

Can you select more than one campus on the "Browse Campus" advance search?

Yes. For example, you may select "Albuquerque/Main" and "Albq Westside (UNM West)" as well as other campuses. After each selection you enter into the "Campus" field, a pop-up message displays indicating "you may add another."

Where are all the syllabi stored? Can we go to the syllabi database to review them even before registration starts?

Although "Class Details" offers a Syllabus option, it is up to each department as to whether or not a syllabus will be uploaded for display. As shown below, advisors are able to view Syllabi on the Banner 9 Administrative form SCASYLB.

Is a section considred "open" if there is a waitlist?

No. A section is not considered open if there is a waitlist because all the seats are taken.

How do you change grade mode?

Students can change "Grade Mode" on the Register for Classes module by clicking on the "Schedule and Options" tab then scrolling to the "Grade Mode" column. The default option is set at "Standard Letter Grade," however, if you click on "Standard Letter Grade," a drop-down menu will display other Grade Mode options:

  • Audit: AUD only
  • Credit/No Credit: CR/NC
